Senior living & memory care

Gardens that visit the activity room

Recurring plant workshops for independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities around Austin. We arrive with the plants, the soil, the tools, and a calm plan for the hour - residents just pull up a chair.

Recurring visits

A standing date with the garden

We build recurring visits into your activity calendar: teacup succulent gardens, herbal tea afternoons, seasonal bulb planting. Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes for groups of about eight, and we repeat familiar sessions on a rhythm residents can look forward to - twice-monthly is the cadence we recommend.

Every session has a variation designed with memory care in mind: familiar materials, one demonstrated step at a time, and an entirely non-toxic plant palette, so residents take part in the whole hour at their own pace.

Slow and steady

What a session looks like

A sensory welcome

Every visit opens the same gentle way: something to smell, touch, or hold - a sprig of rosemary, a velvety leaf - passed around the table while everyone settles in.

Making, one step at a time

The heart of the hour is hands-on: soil, pots, and plants, with each step shown before it is asked. Nobody is rushed, and there is no wrong way to pot a succulent.

A reflective close

We finish by admiring what everyone made, and each resident keeps their creation - a little green take-home that stays on the windowsill and keeps growing between visits.

Safety, gently handled

Every plant palette we bring into memory care is non-toxic, always - chosen so a curious taste or touch is never a worry. Every tea label lists every ingredient, so families and nurses can check blends against medications before anyone sips. And our seasonal amaryllis workshop is not offered in memory care settings, because the bulb is toxic - teacup succulent gardens take its place on the calendar, and nobody misses out on planting day.

Facility visits start at $15 per person per hour plus materials, consistent with published field rates for facilitated horticulture sessions. If you are planning a recurring series, we are happy to talk through series discounts at booking. sample pricing
