Hands-on plant sessions that come to your classroom, library, or garden club - real soil, real seedlings, and a plan built by a horticulturist who spent five years teaching kindergarten. We set the tables, guide every small hand, and pack it all away before the next bell.
Before Moss & Meadow there were five years of teaching kindergarten. Circle time, transitions, twenty pairs of small hands reaching for the same watering can - the person planning your session has managed all of it, daily, and it shows: every step rehearsed, and a backup activity packed for the wiggly day.
That classroom experience also means every session maps to what a school day can actually hold. Younger grades get 30 to 50 minutes of focused, hands-in-the-soil time - the length school programs across the field settle on - while older students can stretch longer. We work in table groups, plan around one adult per five kids, and always welcome parent volunteers and aides at the table.
You will not spend the session managing behavior while a stranger talks over your class. Your session is planned and run by a former kindergarten teacher.
The field trip comes to you. We set up stations in your cafeteria, gym, or library, and classes rotate through in scheduled blocks - no buses, no permission-slip scramble, no lunch logistics.
One class, one hour, everyone plants. We arrive before your period starts, cover the tables, guide the whole activity step by step, and leave the room cleaner than we found it.
Recurring visits - monthly or more often - that build a real growing habit across a semester. Students watch cuttings root, seedlings stretch, and their own care skills grow week over week.
